Weekend is here and it’s going to be hot!

Get set for a hot weekend, especially tomorrow when heat indexes will rise up to just above 100 degrees. Today and tomorrow will be mostly sunny with just a very slight chance of a thunderstorm popping up. There’s enough instability to fuel one, but moisture is lacking. Highs for Dillon, Marion and Marlboro counties in the middle 90s today and middle and upper 90s tomorrow. I think there will be a few spots in South Carolina south and west of here that hit 100.

It actually looks like the next ten days will settle into a very warm and dry pattern. Rain will continue to be very hard to come by. In fact one of the main computer models we look at, the European, says we could go all ten days with none. Not great news for farmers. Hoping it works out better.

No big news or changes in the tropics…watching the disturbance off our coast for any signs of development, but it’s moving away. In the southwestern Gulf of Mexico there is a little better chance of something forming a few days from now. There’s nothing in the tropics that would impact us.
