We will see a few scattered thunderstorms for the next couple of days. This evening some of the storms had very heavy downpours resulting localized flooding. As saturated as we are in the wake of tropical storm Debby, the potential will continue for local flooding from any heavy downpours tomorrow and Monday. Even with the scattered storms, we will have some sunny periods tomorrow and Monday. Lows at night 72-76. Highs each day 85 to 89.
In the tropics, it very likely we will see our next tropical depression and then storm soon. There is a disturbance about half way across the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 50% chance of becoming depression by Tuesday evening, and a 90% chance of developing within 7 days. It could be a threat to the Caribbean by midweek. The next name for a tropical storm is Ernesto. Long range forecasts are showing a turn north soon enough to not be a direct threat to us, but of course we will have to watch and wait to be sure. Here is the NHC outlook map.
