High heat today, extended dry pattern all next week

Mostly sunny and hot today. High temperatures in Dillon, Marion and Marlboro counties middle and upper 90s. If you’re working (or playing) outside definitely remember water and sunscreen. Some places in SC south and west of here could see 100 today. A cold front will slide through today, but thunderstorm chances will stay low.

Unfortunately, it still looks like we are in for a very warm and dry pattern all next week. Farmers could really use some rain, especially for corn right now, but outside of that very slim chance today, rain prospects look nil through the next 7 days. Highs will be 89 to 94.

On the tropical front…That system off our coast has merged with a front and continues to move away. The chance of any development there has ended. In the SW Gulf of Mexico chances of tropical depression/storm development is increasing for the upcoming week. That system will likely have eyes on Mexico.
