This weather blog is something new I’m starting. I hope you find it interesting and useful. It’s geared towards Dillon, Marion and Marlboro counties in SC. My purpose is to let you know what I’m watching weather wise each day. It’s meant to augment the information you’re getting from your usual weather sources. When big events occur, the intensity of this blog will jump to a higher gear and the focus area will expand to cover the state. The big news locally next few days will be the heat. High temperatures Friday will be mid 90s, about 96 in Dillon. Saturday could be even hotter. Looking for about 98. Tropical weather is always something that I watch closely. A disturbance over Florida is giving them needed rain. There’s a chance this disturbance could try to organize into a tropical system over the next few days off the SE coast of the US. It would head out to sea if it does develop, but we’ll keep an eye on it. It will likely be an extremely busy tropical season this year (one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog site). The first tropical storm name will be Alberto.
