Heat Advisory Today - Actual Temps Near 100, Heat Index 105+, Best Rain Chances Tomorrow and Sunday

Be careful outside today and don't overdo activities as it will be very hot and humid. High temperatures will be 97-101 across Dillon, Marion and Marlboro counties. The heat index, what it feels like to your body factoring in the humidity, will be around 105 or just above. The NWS has issued a heat advisory 11 am to 7 pm. Partly to mostly sunny skies today with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening storm.


There is a better chance of scattered storms developing across our area tomorrow afternoon and evening. It will still be very hot tomorrow up to the time of any thunderstorms. Highs 96-100. Everyone may not see rain from the storms tomorrow, but it will be our best chance in a long while. Rain amounts in most cases won't be huge, but as dry as it has been we will love to see anything that comes our way. Here is the GFS prediction on amounts:

On Sunday it looks like there is a good chance of another round of scattered afternoon and evening storms. Added to Thursday's rain, total rain amounts could exceed an inch. Here is the total rain from the GFS ending Sunday evening:
