Beneficial rain from showers and storms Sunday, Tropical Storm Beryl expected to form tonight or tomorrow

A few scattered thundershowers are roaming around this evening and will again tomorrow, but it still looks like our best chance for widespread rain in a long time will come on Sunday and Sunday night. Partly cloudy tonight. Lows in the middle 70s. Hot and humid tomorrow and Sunday. Highs 92 to 96 across Dillon, Marion and Marlboro counties. Heat index over 100. Don’t be surprised to see a heat advisory issued. A cold front approaching Sunday afternoon's will likely trigger showers and storms before the end of Sunday and last into the night.

A tropical depression formed today over thc open Atlantic. Conditions are very favorable for strengthening and we should see the system become Tropical Storm Beryl tonight or tomorrow and then Hurricane Beryl before the weekend is done.
